My Bath Favourites: The Bath Skyline Walk

My Bath Favourites

Just a short stroll from Bath city centre is another world of ancient woodlands, meadows and secluded valleys. Maintained by the National Trust, and free to roam, this six mile circular walk is popular with dog walkers and takes around 3 - 4 hours.

Today we started on the Bathwick Hill entrance - a great spot for overlooking the city of Bath, and a bit of a climb to the Sham Castle.

Approaching Sham Castle, Bath, Somerset, England

The Sham Castle is a Grade II listed building overlooking the city of Bath. It's a great spot for a picnic. The Bath Stone makes the city appear to look a little like a model village from afar.

Much of the walk is through peaceful woodland and fields with wildflowers.

The walk draws to a close with a a different perspective of Bath, offering a wonderful view of the city nestled among tree-lined hills and fields.

I found myself humming Perfect Day and with the sun shining, lambs leaping and birds chirping...can you really blame me?
